Grasshoppers Lose Despite Out Hitting Blue Rocks
Grasshoppers fell 10-9 to Blue Rocks on Thursday at GBI Main Complex despite out-hitting them 15 to 14. Flynn B and JAZIEL T each collected three hits for Grasshoppers. Flynn B collected three hits in three at bats in the loss. Flynn B singled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and doubled in the first inning. Blue Rocks got on the board in the top of the first inning after #13 hit into a fielder's choice, #2 doubled, and #4 doubled, each scoring one run. Blue Rocks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after #13 singled, and #2 tripled, each scoring one run.
Grasshoppers scored five runs on seven hits in the bottom of the third inning. Chase A doubled, scoring one run, Caleb L singled, scoring one run, Flynn B singled, scoring two runs, and JAZIEL T singled, scoring one run.
Blue Rocks took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after #8 doubled, and #14 hit an inside the park home run, each scoring two runs. Grasshoppers made the score 9-7 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Donavon W hit a solo inside the park home run, and Flynn B doubled, scoring one run.
Caleb L began the game for Grasshoppers. The starting pitcher gave up 14 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out 13 and walking none. Grasshoppers piled up 15 hits in the game. Silas F collected two hits for Grasshoppers in three at bats. Grasshoppers didn't commit a single error in the field. Dylan B had the most chances in the field with 13.
Blue Rocks tallied 14 hits in the game. #14 and #2 each collected three hits for Blue Rocks. #14, #8, #13, and #2 each drove in two runs for Blue Rocks. #7 collected two hits for Blue Rocks in three at bats.
Grasshoppers play at home on Tuesday against Mussels in their next game.
Reds Storm Back To Defeat Pirates
Reds rallied to best Pirates 7-6 on Tuesday. Reds trailed by as many as four runs during the game. Pirates got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after C M drew a walk, scoring one run, and AA doubled, scoring two runs.
Pirates added one run in the third. K P singled, making the score 5-1. Reds captured the lead, 7-5, in the top of the sixth when Aiden R singled, scoring one run, and Soren C doubled, scoring two runs.
AM started the game for Pirates. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking two. Aiden R, Caleb H, and Soren C each came on in relief for Reds and shutdown Pirates. Soren C drove the middle of the lineup, leading Reds with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day.
Leadoff hitter Caleb H led Reds with two hits in three at bats. Landon D and Lupton R each stole multiple bases for Reds. Reds stole seven bases in the game. Reds were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Aiden R made the most plays with 12. AA seized on their opportunities, leading Pirates with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 1-for-2 on the day.
P B led Pirates with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. P B stole two bases. Pirates didn't commit a single error in the field. P B had the most chances in the field with six. Reds welcome Mets on Friday for their next game.
Blue Jays Grabs Lead Late For Victory Over Twins
Blue Jays defeated Twins 4-3 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the fifth when Asher singled, scoring one run. A dropped third strike put Twins on the board in the top of the first.
Eli B grounded out, which helped Blue Jays tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. In the top of the third, Twins broke up the tie when Lyle N drew a walk, scoring one run. Then a wild pitch followed to extend the lead to 3-1. Jeremiah P homered to right field, which helped Blue Jays tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.
Eli B earned the win for Blue Jays. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Jeremiah P started the game for Blue Jays. The righty allowed zero hits and three runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking five. Joseph G started the game for Twins. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and three runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking five.
Jeremiah P drove the middle of the lineup, leading Blue Jays with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-1 on the day. Ethan L, James D, Asher U, and Jeremiah P each collected one hit for Blue Jays. Wyatt E led Blue Jays with twO walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.
Blue Jays were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ryker H had the most chances in the field with 14. Lyle N led Twins with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Lyle N stole two bases. Twins turned one double play in the game. Blue Jays will travel to Tigers for their next game on Thursday.
Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Dodgers Victory Over Redsox
Dodgers took Tuesday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Redsox at North Garner Middle School. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the fifth when Jimmy Lopez singled, scoring one run.
John Lowe collected three hits in three at bats in the win. John Lowe doubled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Dodgers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jimmy Lopez tripled, and Elliott MatthewS grounded out, each scoring one run. A single by Elliott Matthews, and a passed ball helped Dodgers extend their early lead in the third. Redsox made the score 7-6 in the top of the fifth after Richard Mooring drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Dodgers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Preston Creasy singled, and Jimmy Lopez singled, each scoring one run.
Jimmy Lopez opened the game for Dodgers. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking five. Colin Medeiros stepped on the mound first for Redsox. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and six runs (five earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking three. Ephram Johnson appeared in relief for Dodgers. Elliott Matthews and Preston Creasy each drove in one run for Dodgers. Jimmy Lopez collected two hits for Dodgers in two at bats.
Elliott Matthews, Lucas D'Entremont, and John Lowe each stole multiple bases for Dodgers. Dodgers stole 10 bases in the game. Richard Mooring drove the middle of the lineup, leading Redsox with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Colin Medeiros, Zach Bennett, and Richard Mooring each collected one hit for Redsox. Redsox had patience at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. Colin Medeiros, Tucker Williams, Myzee Brockington, and Cody Hodges led the team with two free passes each. Colin Medeiros, Zach Bennett, and Cody Hodges each stole multiple bases for Redsox. Redsox ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 10 stolen bases for the game.
