Each Spring season GBI fields Tar Heel sanctioned All-Star teams consisting of players participating in our Rec programs.  Players from ages 8U through 15U are considered eligible for the All Star tournament.

Nomination Process

• The All-Star teams are selected by secret ballot by the league's head coaches after the regular season.
• The league head coaches will nominate up to 4 players from their team and include any/all positions that he/she plays on the field.
• Head coaches and other assistant coaches can collaborate and discuss which players they feel should be nominated from their team only.
• While all teams will have players nominated, not all teams will necessarily have a player who makes the final All-Star roster, based on overall league rankings.
• Any player of a league head coach or assistant coach that is nominated will be ranked like all other players, if he/she has a player nominated.
• All league head coaches will independently rank the players from the nominated list (depending on # of kids submitted) down to a list of 12 players to make the final roster.
• Only the head coaches will rank the Top 12 for the final roster.
• If any player selected for the final roster cannot commit to play or declines the invitation, the All-Star coordinator and league director will then go back to the ranked players and reach out to the next highest ranked player on the list and contact them.

All-Star Team Rosters and coaches will be announced the week prior to GBI Championship games.
